How I work

I appreciate your business and trust. One way I show this is by responding promptly to your inquiries and completing work within the time period agreed upon.

I carefully and methodically mark all errors of spelling, capitalization, punctuation, grammar, usage, formatting, and questionable or “gray area” items. I clearly indicate what is wrong and how it should be corrected – and what is questionable and how it might be improved. If anything is inconsistent or ambiguous, I point that out.

Typically, I make corrections using the comments tool in Microsoft Word, but other ways are also acceptable if you prefer. I usually use the most recent edition of the Merriam-Webster Collegiate Dictionary and Chicago Manual of Style for reference. If you prefer another style manual or lexical authority, please inquire.

I apply a healthy dose of common sense about language and communication because my highest priority is helping you get your message across in your context.
